About the Program
Al-Qamar Academy's Girls' Online After-School Maktab program is dedicated to teaching students the recitation of the Qur’an with proper tajwīd, while instilling the essential and central teachings of Islam that every Muslim is obliged to learn. This program is designed for all Muslim girls in our community, providing an ideal opportunity for school-going children to learn Qur’an recitation, receive an Islamic education, and absorb Islamic values and morals in a conducive environment.

Mission
Our program emphasizes not only Qur’anic recitation with proper tajwīd but also includes comprehensive Islamic disciplines such as the Seerah of the Prophets (AS), the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW), Fiqh (Islamic legal rulings), Du‘aas for various occasions, and Ahadith (prophetic narrations). At the Academy, we strive to nurture the moral and ethical values of our students, preparing them to be future leaders in the Muslim community.
Our objective is to instill in each student a deep love and understanding of Allah, His Prophet (SAW), and Islam, while fostering a positive Muslim identity dedicated to their faith, family, and community.
Curriculum
The Qur'an recitation portion of the class is tailored to each student individually. Students who have no experience reading Arabic will begin learning to do so using the "Yassarnal Qur'an" textbook. Those who have the ability to read Arabic will work on their recitation as well as memorization.
The Islamic Studies portion of the class is taught using Safar Publications' Islamic Studies book, which is a compilation of many subjects including Seerah, Hadith, Du'aas, and more.
